Breakfast at Tiffany's
I have read the book Breakfast at Tiffany's about 3 times now and have seen this movie twice. The movie is elegant and depicts the lifestyle of a girl desperate to be something more. Every morning, Audrey Hepburn's character grabs coffee and a scone and stand in front of the window at Tiffany's, which is a high end jewelry store. She stands and admires the beautiful pieces of jewelry and imagines what the life of the women trying on the jewelry must be like. She lives in a one bedroom apartment with her cat and is aching for a better more extravagant life. I enjoyed the book so much more than the movie. Anytime I read the book first, the movie does not live up to my expectations. The movie is good, don't get me wrong, but the book allows for you to really in-vision Audrey's character "Holly" and you really get a feel for what she is going through.

Bedtime Stories
I absolutely LOVED this movie! It is surprising to me that Adam Sandler would produce and star in such a family movie! Usually, his movies are not necessarily aimed towards the family movie genre. The story line helps to show a transformation in Sandler's character "Skeeter" as he realizes the kind of person he needs to be in the lives of his niece and nephew. My favorite character in this movie would have to be "Bugsy" the big-eyed hamster. Every time they showed Bugsy, I could not help but to burst into laughter. Bedtime Stories is the kind of movie that really will brighten your day. The story line and moral of the movie are truly amazing. SEE IT!!
The Day the Earth Stood Still
This movie had potential, unfortunately, it turned out to be really disappointing. I am not a big fan of Keanu Reeves, so that did not help my perception of the movie. The theme of the movie is that the Earth is in danger of destruction and that the only way to save it is to destroy the human race. Ugh, really? I never like movies that try to push their views on you. I agree with "going green" and saving our planet, but as a movie theme...I think not. I WOULD NOT recommend seeing this movie, unless you have seen everything else that is on the shelf at Blockbuster.

Yes Man
Yes man turned out to be areally good movie. I'm not really a big Jim Carey fan, his stuff is usually over done and a little much for my taste. My fiance actually talked me into watching this movie tonight and I figured I would give it a chance. I was laughing from beginning to end in this movie! It is not just a comedy, but it is also a movie that makes you think and evaluate your own life. I began to wonder how many things I was missing out on by being afraid to say yes. In this movie you are able to see the transformation of Jim Carey's character "Carl" as he begins to realize that he was not really living his life. The viewer is also able to see that saying yes to one situation brought him into a bunch of other situations that led to some amazing experiences and the making of lasting friendships. I would recommend that everyone see this movie, especially if you are having a hard time. The meaning of the movie is upbeat and gives hope to those of us who at times feel like there has got to be more to life than the hum drum hassle we go through everyday.
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
Overall, this was a great movie! The beginning of the movie was a bit confusing and I was left wondering where exactly these characters fit into the movie. Approximately 5-10 minutes into the movie, I began to put the puzzle together. The idea that anyone could age in reverse is mind-boggling (kind of like the idea of a human and vampire falling in love). Brad Pitt did an amazing job portraying his character Benjamin and I have to admit he earned some of his credibility back in my eyes. I had lost all respect for him after the Angelina Jolie incident and it was hard for me to enjoy his movies (I know that is kind of weird). The journey that Brad's character embarks upon is incredible and I would recommend that when this movie comes out on DVD to buy it!

Twilight
I waited untilTwilight came out on DVD to watch it. I usually stay away from hyped up movies, but I had many of my friends tell me that this movie was amazing, so I watched it. This movie is romantic and draws you in. Who would have thought that a love affair between a vampire and a teenaged girl could be so entertaining? When I began watching the movie, I started to wonder why everyone was so obsessed with it. Ten minutes later, I was hooked! It draws you in unexpectedly. "Edward" is the vampire that you cannot help but love. By the end of the movie, you desperately hope that "Bella"(the teen) could transform into a vampire, so that they can be together forever. This is by far the most romantic and thrilling movie I have seen. Again, no spoiled endings here...BUY IT!!! IT IS WORTH THE MONEY!!

Nights in Rodanthe
I had high hopes for this movie. Richard Gere and Diane Lane always seem to have the best on screen chemistry, as seen in their previous film Unfaithful. Undoubtedly, Nights in Rodanthe is a love story. The beginning of the movie is a little slow. The plot takes a while to develop, leaving you wondering if you should continue watching it. At the same moment you are tempted to turn it off, the plot gets a little more interesting and you are wondering what is going to happen.
Diane Lane's character is a sweet mother of two who deserves a good man, which is exactly what you expect to happen for her. Richard Gere's character is somewhat of a hardened soul in search of guidance. The two meet and create a relationship that you know they both deserve. He is able to soften his heart and is able to find his way.
At this point in the movie, the viewer is hooked! Unfortunately, the ending is not what you expect. I was very disappointed with the ending, which left me a little depressed. I don't get it! Don't we get enough of real life on a day to day basis?? I don't know about you, but I watch movies to escape reality, not get a heavy dose of it! I expect fantasy and happy endings. If you feel the same, don't watch it. Again, don't take my word for it, judge for yourself.
